Borderview Christian

Borderview Christian Church, 1338 Bristol Highway, will host a Christmas piano concert on Sunday, Dec. 15, at 3 p.m.. 

The concert will feature Scott Reynolds, longtime Borderview musician, and John Banks, local attorney and a pianist at Hopwood Christian Church. A variety of Christmas piano solos and duets will focus holiday thoughts on the Christ Child through various Christmas carols.  Additionally, the children’s ministry will present a musical, “Hark, the Herald Angel” on Sunday, Dec. 22, at 6 p.m. Witness the Christmas story as told by the children of the church from heaven’s point of view.

Everyone is invited to attend these special worship services. Scott Fisher is the senior minister, and Kathy Thomason is the children’s director.

 

Blue Springs Christian

The Sunday morning worship service at Blue Springs Christian Church will feature a special Christmas program by the children of the church. The program will be under the direction of Regina Barkley.

The men of the community are invited to a breakfast at 8:30 a.m. Dec. 21. Good food and fellowship will be featured.

A Christmas concert featuring Jamie Jordan will be presented Dec. 22 at 6 p.m. followed by a time of fellowship with Christmas cookies, coffee, apple cider, and hot chocolate.

A special Christmas service will be held at 5 p.m. Christmas Eve to which the public is invited.

Wes McElravy is the minister at Blue Springs Christian, which is located at 106 Don Romiger Road.

 

Zion Baptist

The adult Choir of Zion Baptist Church will present the Christmas musical drama “All Is Well” Sunday, Dec. 15, at 6 p.m.

The church is located at 1982 Gap Creek Road. 

The pastor, Dr. D. Alan King, invites the public to attend.

 

Pearce’s Chapel Free Will

A candlelight service will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 29, at Pearce’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, 2831 Gap Creek Road, Hampton.

Everyone is invited.

 

St. John’s Free Will

St. John’s Free Will Baptist Church, 178 Old Rock Quarry Road, Roan Mountain, will have a Christmas In The Valley Toy Dive Saturday, Dec. 14, at 11 a.m.

Gifts can be picked out for the children of Roan Mountain. Also, holiday treats will be served.

 

Unaka Baptist

Unaka Baptist Church will present a Christmas cantata Sunday at 10:45 a.m.

The children will perform a Christms play Dec. 22 at the evening service after which there will be finger foods and fellowship.

Johnny Fields is the pastor.

 

Grace Baptist

Grace Baptist Church preschool and elementary departments will present “A Christmas Campfire Sing-Along” Sunday, Dec. 22, at 6 p.m.

A Christmas Eve Candlelight Service will be held December 24 at 5 p.m. The service will feature carols, a sermon, the Lord’s Supper, and candlelight.

The Rev. Travis Tyler is pastor.

 

Sinking Creek Baptist

Sinking Creek Baptist Church will present “A Frontier Christmas” outdoor free walk-through Christmas drama, beginning at the church pavilion Dec. 20 and 21 from 5 to 8 p.m.

Groups start every 20 minutes and last for about one hour.

The pastor, Chuck Babb, invites the public to attend.

 

Joint Cantata

First United Methodist Church will join First Baptist Church in a joint cantata Sunday evening at 6 o’clock at First Baptist Church.

The two choirs will come together to present Mary McDonald’s “This Christmas – Celebrating the Heart of Christmas.”

The public is invited.

 

Oak Grove Christian

The youth at Oak Grove Christian Church will present “A Charlie Brown Christmas” at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15.

Following the play, refreshments will be provided along with a very special visitor from the North Pole.

Everyone is invited.

 

First Free Will 

The Adult Choir of First Free Will Baptist Church will present a Christmas cantata at the morning service Sunday at First Free Will Baptist Church, Elizabethton. The service will begin at 11 a.m. Grady Holder is choir director.

Sunday evening, the children of the church will present a program at 6 p.m.

Everyone is invited.

The Rev. Nathan Jennings is pastor.

 

First Christian Church

First Christian Church Elizabethton has worship at 9:45 a.m. Sunday.

Special Wednesday night services are held during December at 6 p.m. The services feature fun and special events.

First Christian has a food pantry. Persons who need a food box are asked to call the church office at 542-5651 to make an appointment.

Moore’s Chapel Free Will

Moore’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church will present “The Christmas Miracle in Bethlehem” Sunday, Dec. 15, at 6 p.m.

The public is invited.

 

Valley Forge Free Will

“The Promised King” will be presented at two afternoon services by the Valley Forge Praise Choir Sunday, Dec. 15, at 3 and 6 p.m.

The choir will sing and tell the story of the promises of Christmas, which bring joy to the world.

 

First Presbyterian

Elizabethton First Presbyterian Church, 119 West F St., will have both an online and in-person worship service Sunday, Dec. 15.

The pastor, The Rev. Dr. Brian Wyatt, will present the message “Divine Disruption” based on Luke 1: 46-55.

Meditation is Wednesday at 7 p.m. and Adult Forum is at 9:30 a.m. Sunday in Martin Hall.
