NASHVILLE — Tennessee State Parks will host a public meeting at Roan Mountain State Park on Tuesday, Jan. 28, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. to discuss the park’s site management plan. This meeting, originally postponed due to Hurricane Helene, will take place at the park’s Conference Center, located at 1011 TN-143, Roan Mountain, Tennessee.
The meeting is part of a 10-year Comprehensive Strategic Plan that outlines management and operational goals for all 59 state parks in Tennessee. Park staff will present key elements of the plan and invite public input on strategic proposals specific to Roan Mountain State Park.
The plan focuses on four core areas of park management:
- Resource Stewardship
- Visitor Experience
- Facilities and Amenities
- Operational Excellence
The strategic plan emphasizes the commitment to delivering high-quality parks, trails, and facilities while contributing to local economies and enhancing the quality of life for Tennesseans.
Comments on the plan will be accepted through Feb. 7 via an online survey or mail. The public can review Roan Mountain State Park’s individual management plan, along with systemwide proposals, on the Tennessee State Parks website.
For more information or to provide feedback, attendees are encouraged to participate in the meeting or visit the state parks website to complete the online survey.
