The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has approved more than $5 million in disaster loans to help Tennessee homeowners, renters, and private non-profit organizations recover from damages caused by Tropical Storm Helene.
Even though the disaster declaration’s filing deadline has passed, the SBA remains committed to assisting survivors during the grace period and beyond.
Applications Still Accepted
The SBA is accepting disaster loan applications up to 60 days past the filing deadline without requiring an explanation for the delay. Survivors can apply online through the MySBA Portal at lending.sba.gov.
For applications submitted more than 60 days past the deadline, the SBA may still consider them if the delay is due to circumstances beyond the applicant’s control. To request assistance for a late application, survivors can:
- Email: disastercustomerservice@sba.gov
- Call: 1-800-659-2955 (TTY: 7-1-1)
- Visit: An SBA Recovery Center in person
The SBA emphasizes that disaster loans can provide critical support for recovery, whether for repairing damaged property or addressing other financial needs caused by Tropical Storm Helene.
