JOHNSON CITY — Wallace Subaru of Johnson City recently delivered dozens of boxes filled with new winter coats, shoes, and socks to Youth Villages of Johnson City, benefiting more than 250 children in Northeast Tennessee.
The donation was part of a collaboration with Subaru of America, Inc., its Subaru Loves to Help program, and the nonprofit Operation Warm.
“This delivery of warm coats, shoes, and socks could not have come at a better time with such cold conditions. Hopefully, we have made winter a little easier and a little warmer for the children Youth Villages serves,” said Austin Reed, sales manager at Wallace Subaru of Johnson City. “Working with the community to help others is why Wallace Subaru of Johnson City is more than a car dealer.”
Youth Villages is a private, nonprofit national organization dedicated to helping children with emotional and behavioral challenges. The organization provides direct services to thousands of children and families annually. The Johnson City location is one of four Youth Villages sites in Tennessee, serving more than 700 children in central and northeast Tennessee each year.
Operation Warm, a national nonprofit, connects underserved children with resources they need to thrive by providing basic necessities such as coats and shoes. Over the past 25 years, the organization has served more than 5 million children.
