Karen Regina Fields, 66, Roan Mountain, passed away Thursday, Jan. 23, 2025, at her residence. She was born Nov. 14, 1958, to the late Walter William and Geneva Arnold Vance. She was a homemaker who was fond of cleaning. She loved sewing, fishing on the water, and playing games. She was an avid animal lover, as she had many dogs over the years. In earlier years, she attended Lewis Chapel Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert “Dean” Fields, and a sister, Patricia Doty.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Eddie Fields, the love of her life; three sisters, Sandy Vance, Donna Banner and husband Gary, and Pam Vance and fiancé Bobby Clouser; two granddaughters, Kaylen Fields and Karah Fields; and several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
A graveside service was conducted at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26, 2025, in the Fields Family Cemetery. Active pallbearers, who were requested to assemble at the Lower Shell Creek Christian Church, were Dallas Birchfield, Fred Fields, R.T. Fields, Shaun Fields, Ricky Ledford, Dylan “Bob” Fields, and Cecil Fields. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Clouser, Scott Banner, Gary Banner, and Rick Fields. The family received friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Lower Shell Creek Christian Church. Family and friends will assemble at the church at 3 p.m. Sunday to go to the cemetery.
