Helen Tester Lacey, age 95, of Elizabethton, Tennessee, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2025, at the Ivy Hall Nursing Home. Helen was born Aug. 24, 1929, in Washington County, Tennessee, to the late Barney and Bonnie Marie Cable Tester. In addition to her parents, Helen was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Lacey; and her brothers, David Tester, Silas Tester, Norman Tester, and Burl Tester.

Helen was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, daughter, and sister. She loved her family beyond measure and kept her home warm and inviting to everyone. Helen was a member of Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church since Oct. 15, 2006, and she loved to sing. She had been a part of the “Female Trio” in the Nazarene Church.

Helen leaves behind her son, Dwight Lacey, of Elizabethton; and five nephews, David Tester, John Tester, Dale Tester, Walter Tester, and Mark Tester.

An open visitation for friends to pay their respects and sign the guest register book will be conducted between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 16, 2025, at Tetrick Funeral Home of Elizabethton.

A celebration graveside service for Helen will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 17, 2025, at Happy Valley Memorial Park, with Pastor Randy Johnson and Pastor Mark Potter officiating. Music will be under the direction of Mr. Jeff Snyder. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 12:50 p.m. on Monday.
