Charles M. Eller

Charles M. Eller, 91, of Elizabethton, passed away Friday, May 22, 2015, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital after an extended illness.
A native of Heaton, N.C., he was a son of the late Charles C. and Rose Miller Eller.
Mr. Eller graduated from Cranberry High School, Elk Park, N.C., and attended Lees-McRae College, Banner Elk, N.C. He came to Elizabethton when he was 23 and started his business, service station, tire and recapping. Later he opened Charles Eller’s Amoco and worked there for 40 years.
Charles served as a Deacon in the First Christian Church and later served as a Deacon in the East River Park Christian Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Ann Hunnicutt; his brothers, Swift and Hayes Eller; and three sisters, Alma Bowlick, Wilma Heaton and Anna Ruth Ellis.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Ann Large Eller; three grandchildren, Kela Collins, Dustin Hurley and Lyndsay Hurley; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
It was his wish to be cremated and a private family service will be at a later date. The family would like to thank Love Care Center, all the nurses and their aids and Dr. Cox, the office staff, kitchen help, the staff of Sycamore Shoals Hospital and a special Thank You to Dr. Valdes Diaz in the emergency room.
