Otis Levi Dugger Jr., 67, of Butler, Tenn., went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, November 24, 2015, at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born May 17, 1948 in Tazewell, Va., to the late Odis Levi Dugger and Parlee Greenwell Dugger. In addition to his parents, Otis was preceded in death by a sister, Yvonne Dugger, and two brothers, Bill Dugger and Odis Dugger.
Otis was a minister of the gospel for many years and he pastored Piercetown Baptist Church for 21 years. He worked for Shoun Lumber for 19 years but spent many other years doing logging and sawmill work. He loved to deer hunt, was proud of his cattle, and enjoyed doing tractor work on his farm.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Geraldine Taylor Dugger; daughters and sons-in-law, Connie and Danny Clawson, Melissa and Terry Steele and Angie and Lee Sluder; sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Crystal Dugger and Steve and Tammy Dugger; grandchildren, Christy Ward (Joey), Catie Lunceford (Nathan), Brittanie Gregg (Travis), Rachel Vines, Jason Steele (Sierra), Aaron Steele, Jordon Dugger (Kendra), Megan Dugger (Andy), Austin Dugger, Leanna Lipford, Tristan Lipford, Sarah Dugger and Summer Dugger; step-grandchildren, Derrek Sluder and Phyllicia Sluder; great-grandchildren, Gavin and Garrett Ward, Caidance and Cree Lunceford, Mason and Aubree Gregg, Brayden, Cophen and Raylee Dugger, Maycon and Anaya Hardin and Josie Rae Dugger; sisters, Deloris Lamb, Mary Atwood, Louise Markham, Judy Mannis and Shirley Dugger; brothers, Jim Dugger and Johnny Dugger; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Edward Fletcher and Montie Pierce; and his little companion, Daisey, his dog.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, November 27, at Mountain City Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 8 p.m. with Terry Steele and John Hammitt to officiate. Music will be provided by Tony and Cheri Potter. Pallbearers will be Danny Clawson, Travis Gregg, Jason Steele, Jordon Dugger, Nathan Lunceford, Austin Dugger, Aaron Steele and Joey Ward. Graveside services and interment will be Saturday, November 28, at 11 a.m. in the Bakers Gap Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home, 2721 Sink Valley Road, Butler.
