It’s lights out at county home

The lights are off and nobody is home.

That’s not the way it usually goes, but it’s hard to have lights when all the light bulbs are gone.

A homeowner at 131 Taylor Hollow Road reported to the Carter County Sheriff’s Department that someone had kicked in the door of the residence and taken all of the light bulbs, along with other objects.

In addition to the light bulbs, the owner reported the furnace was no longer working and the outside water hose port was taken.

An outside storage building was also broken into and a tool box with assorted tools, car ramps and an air conditioning unit were reported missing.

The items were valued at $1,000 for the tool box and tools, $250 for the air conditioning unit, $100 for the light bulbs and $20 for the water hose port.

The homeowner said the home had been unoccupied since the end of March.
