Road work won’t cramp the Cruise-In after all.
The Carter County Car Club’s Cruise-In will be in downtown Elizabethton for the first two weekends in May.
Elizabethton Street and Sanitation Director Danny Hilbert said the car club will host its shows downtown on May 2 and May 10. It was earlier believed the show would be hampered by road construction that will be occurring to improve the East Elk Avenue and Sycamore Street intersection.
Hilbert said after talking to the construction company it was believed the work would not impact the car show.
“The car show will go on as planned,” Hilbert said.
On May 10, the Car Club will be participate in a fundraiser at Elizabethton High School, but will move to downtown Elizabethton at 5 p.m. for the regularly planned show.
