This year’s Covered Bridge Celebration will feature many local talent acts during its four nights of entertainment.
For the 48th Covered Bridge Celebration, the headliners will be recording artist Brad Puckett, The Twang Bangers, Russell Moore and IIIrd Time Out and the Primitive Quartet. The Covered Bridge Celebration will be held from Wednesday, June 11, to Saturday, June 14.
“We are showcasing a lot of local talent this year,” said Elizabethton/Carter County Chamber of Commerce Director Tonya Stevens. “It is always good to be able to do that. It will be four fun-filled evenings of entertainment.”
The entertainment starts on Wednesday night, when the focus is gospel music. The Primitive Quartet is headlining, and entertainment leading up to their performance will be provided by several local churches.
Russell More and IIIrd Time Out will be the headliners on Thursday. Other performers will be Carson Peters, the Dennis Cove Band, Jeff Brown & Still Lonesome, and Adkins & Loudermilk.
Friday’s headliner will be The Twang Bangers. Acoustifried, Bakersfield and Jeff Sharpe and Friends will be the other performers.
The Saturday performances will be led by Brad Puckett. Others include the Beach Night Band featuring former members of The Collegians, the Bullseye Band, Shooter and Thursday Night Gang.
Local clogging group the Trailblazers and Watts Dance Studio will also perform during the festival.
“We look forward to another great year of celebrating at the Covered Bridge,” Stevens said. “With a very diverse group of musicians, we have something for everyone and we hope the community will come out and support this annual tradition.”
Along with the entertainment and vendors, the Covered Bridge Celebration will have kid’s island, a Kids’ Catfish Tournament sponsored by the Workforce Development Complex and TWRA, The Walgreen’s Little Mr. and Mrs. Hillbilly Contest, and the Food City Ice Cream Social.
