Charlotte W. Robinson, 91, of Elizabethton, died peacefully at her residence on Monday, August 11, 2014, following an extended illness. She was born in Carter County and was the daughter of the late F.D. “Ted” and Beryl Campbell Wingfield. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Gon Z. Robinson, in 1998.
Mrs. Robinson was a member of First United Methodist Church in Elizabethton. She was a former secretary at Carter County Memorial Hospital and also loved to play golf and bridge.
Mrs. Robinson is survived by her son, Richard Robinson, of the home; Richard’s daughter, Rachel and her husband, Richard Roller, Johnson City, their children, Aiden Roller and Ethan Roller, Johnson City; Richard’s son, David Robinson and his wife, Ashley, Memphis, and their children, Tyler Robinson and Charlotte Joyce Robinson, also of Memphis.
A Gathering of Remembrance Service for Mrs. Robinson will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday, August 14, at First United Methodist Church, Elizabethton, with Rev. Raymond W. Amos Sr. officiating. Music will be under the direction of Catherine Edwards-Bunton and David Arney. The family will receive friends at the church from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, prior to the service, or at the home at other times. Private disposition will be held at a later date. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to the Music Fund at First United Methodist Church, 325 East E Street, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
