Bertha J. Swank, 90, died Friday evening, August 15, 2014, at Pine Ridge Care Center, Elizabethton. She was born March 28, 1924 in Preble County, Ohio to the late Guilford and Emma (Geeting) Bevington.
Bertha was a longtime resident of rural Arcanum, Ohio, moving to Tennessee to be with her son Duane. She attended the Family of God Ministries and was a former member of the Eagles Lodge in Greenville, Ohio.
Bertha was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Swank Sr., who died April 11, 1996, and 11 brothers and sisters.
She is survived by three sons, Duane (Harriet) Swank of Elizabethton, Tenn., Kenneth (Virginia) Swank Jr. of Piqua, Ohio, and Michael (friend Lorraine Stratton) Swank of Tucson, Ariz.; grandchildren, step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at noon Thursday, August 21, at Kreitzer Funeral Home, Arcanum, Ohio, with Rev. Joe LeMaster officiating. Interment will follow in Ithaca Cemetery.
