John P. Sheehan, 84, of Elizabethton, passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2014, at Johnson City Medical Center following a brief illness.
Mr. Sheehan was born in Homestead, Pa., a son of the late Edward and Katherine Smith Sheehan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Grindstaff Sheehan.
Mr. Sheehan was a retired computer designer and was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. He was a United States Navy veteran, having served in the Korean Conflict as a radio operator.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Sheehan Royal, Raleigh, N.C.; a son, Mike Sheehan, Dallas, Texas; and four grandchildren, Patrick Royal, Raleigh, N.C., Brandon Sheehan, Graci Sheehan and Chase Sheehan, all of Lexington, S.C.
A funeral mass to honor the life of John P. Sheehan will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 6, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Elizabethton with Rev. Dennis Kress officiating. The graveside service will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the charity of your choice, in memory of Mr. Sheehan.
