Patti R. Drop

Patti R. Drop, 86, of Elizabethton, Tenn., passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, September 2, 2014.
Patti was born in Johnson City, Tenn., to the late Thomas and Clara Myers. In addition to her parents, Patti was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, John C. Drop. Her family moved to New Jersey when she was a teenager. She resided in Belleville, N.J., with her husband John for many years, before retiring to Elizabethton. She was a member of Borderview Christian Church.
Patti was a creative and artistic homemaker who loved travel and adventure. Family, friends and neighbors were always welcome in her home. She was a fabulous cook, and there was always a crowd around Aunt Pat’s holiday table.
Survivors include her sister, Frances Meyer of Philadelphia; her niece, Connie Byers and her husband, Ken Skinner, of Raleigh, N.C.; and a great-niece, Erin Clarke and her husband, Cameron, of Pittsboro, N.C.
The family would like to express special thanks to Patti’s dear friend and caregiver, Penny Hampton.
A memorial service will be held in Patti’s honor at 7 p.m. Saturday, September 6, at Tetrick Funeral Home in Elizabethton. The family will receive visitors from 6 to 7 p.m., prior to the service.
