Gladys Adlene Bowers, 85, formerly of Elizabethton, passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2014, in Richmond, Va., following an extended illness.
Mrs. Bowers was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late Walter and Emma Shoun Asher.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Darrell Bowers, and a son, Denny Bowers.
Mrs. Bowers was a homemaker and a member of Blue Springs Christian Church.
A service to honor the life of Mrs. Gladys Adlene Bowers will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 7, 2014, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Mr. Richard Thomason, minister, officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel prior to the service on Sunday. The graveside service will follow in the Bowers Cemetery.
