Authorities say an anonymous tip led them to a county home where they found a marijuana growing operation.
Carter County Sheriff’s Department Capt. Mike Little said the department received an anonymous tip regarding illegal activity at a home a 1033 Highway 91 in the Stoney Creek community.
Little said CCSD Sgt. Nick Andes went to the residence on Thursday morning to investigate the tip.
“Upon his arrival at the residence, Sgt. Andes attempted to make contact with the resident at that address. However, it appeared no one was home,” Little said.
After further investigation, Little said Andes secured a search warrant and officers returned to the residence Thursday afternoon.
“Upon executing the search warrant later this date, several large marijuana plants were located at the residence, along with drug paraphernalia items,” Little said. “The plants, some of which exceeded 6 feet tall, were taken into evidence.”
Little said charges are pending as the investigation continues.
