Anna Belle Green

Mrs. Anna Belle Green, 91, of Elizabethton, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, September 7, 2014, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital following an extended illness.
She was the daughter of the late Roosevelt and Della Cook Montgomery and was born in Carter County. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert R. Green, on March 3, 1969; a son, Dayton Green; an infant daughter, Desie Hannah Green; and three brothers.
Mrs. Green was a member of Doe River Baptist Church. She loved to quilt and work in her flower gardens.
She is survived by a daughter, Pansy Smith and her husband, Paul, Elizabethton; two sons, Stanley Green and his wife, Kathern, Elizabethton, and Terry Green and his wife, Frankie, Sanger, Texas; a daughter-in-law, Judy Green, Elizabethton; six grandchildren, Brad Green and his wife, April, Lenoir City, Tenn., Lance Green and his wife, Ashleigh, Plant City, Fla., T.J. Green, Dallas, Texas, John Green and his wife, Kate, Bedford, Texas, Rebekah Browning and her husband, Michael, Tyler, Texas, and April Heaton and her husband, Dan, Piney Flats, Tenn.; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, John Elbert Montgomery and his wife, Norma Jean, Johnson City, Tenn.; and two sisters, Nellie Harris and Sarah Reed and her husband, Ron, all of Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Green will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 10, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home with Rev. Ray Green and Mr. Brad Green, minister, officiating. Music will be under the direction of Mr. John Green, soloist. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from noon until 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, prior to the service, or at the home of her daughter, Pansy Smith, at other times. Interment will follow the funeral service in the Whitehead Cemetery in Butler. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
