Carolyn Taylor, 58, 810 Watauga Road, Watauga, passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2014, at Franklin Woods Community Hospital.
A native of Radford, Va., she was a daughter of the late Willie and Mary Cumby King. She had lived a number of years in Carter County.
Mrs. Taylor was a homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Lighthouse for Jesus.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth Shepard and Lois Hammersley.
Survivors include her husband, Toby Taylor; two daughters, Lisa Garland and husband Jamie, Elk Park, N.C., and Becky Woods and husband Jeff, Dante, Va.; a son, Toby Taylor II and wife Jackie, Watauga; her grandchildren, Zach and wife Kim, Sarahbeth “Beth,” Sharon and husband Hank, Elizabeth “Izzy,” Summer, Dustin and Autumn “Audie”; her great-grandchildren, Andrea, Whitney, Jonathan, Eddie, Chloee “Chloee-Bug” and Eli “Pedro”; and her great-great-grandchildren, Makayleah and Liam.
Funeral services for Carolyn Taylor will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday, September 11, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Brother Bill Younce officiating. Music will be provided by Tammy Tipton. Graveside services and interment will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday, September 12, in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Raymond Taylor, Billy Joe Hicks, Jody Hicks, Jason Phillips and Mr. B. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, prior to the funeral service. Friends may also visit with the family at the residence. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:50 a.m. Friday to go to the cemetery. Condolences may be e-mailed to mfc@chartertn.net.
