Thomas “T.J.” Walker

Thomas “T.J.” Walker, 84, of Elizabethton, passed away Thursday, September 18, 2014, at Hermitage Health Care.
A native of Graham, Ky., he was a son of the late Columbus Paul and Mable Vandiver Walker. He had lived in Elizabethton since 1973.
Mr. Walker served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was retired from Waste Management and was of the Baptist Faith.
T.J. was a 33rd degree Mason and a member of Medina Temple, Chicago.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Agnes McKinney Walker, and two brothers, Charles and Raymond Walker.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Roy Davis, Sherwood, Ark.; two sons, Daniel Walker and Tom Walker and wife Lisa, all of Elizabethton; six grandchildren, Amy Davis, Cabot, Ark., Kris Davis, Sherwood, Ark., Heather Pugh, Cabot, Ark., Michelle Esper, Billings, Mont., Mindy Glove and Thomas “J.P.” Walker, both of Elizabethton; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Wanda Smith and Wilma Dean Barnes, both of Greenville, Ky., and Louise Lewis, Central City, Ky. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Walker will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, September 21, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Mike Dickenson officiating. Entombment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Preston Glover, Paul Waters, Dakota Waters, Alex Baughman, James Smith and Charles Stevens. Military Honors will be provided by the American Legion. The family will receive friends from noon until 1 p.m. Sunday, prior to the funeral service.
