Some customers with the Elizabethton Electric Department will experience a brief power outage next week.
Marketing and Industrial Services Coordinator Ken Markland said the EED has scheduled two brief controlled outages for sections of Upper Gap Creek Road, Dry Creek Road and Sciota Road.
The first power outage is scheduled to take place at 10 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 22.
The next outage is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 25.
Markland said the outages are planned to be no longer than 30 minutes and then power would be restored to the customers in that area.
He explained the planned power outages were related to the Gap Creek Road construction project. On Monday, crews will be switching electricity to another power feed, and then on Thursday the power will be switched back.
“Elizabethton Electric apologizes for any inconvenience these outages may cause our customers and we thank our customers for their patience,” Markland said.
He added that no other outages are planned at this time.
