Lara Paige “Lollipop” Mahone, 31, of Elizabethton, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 21, 2014, at Bristol Regional Hospital.
Lara was born February 24, 1983 in Johnson City, Tenn. She was a lifelong resident of Carter County and a graduate of Unaka High School. Lara Loved the Lord with all her heart and attended Siam Baptist Church whenever she could.
Lara loved animals, especially cats, and enjoyed visiting the Carter County Animal Shelter.
Lara is survived by her parents, Deborah and Jesse Mahone of Elizabethton; two sisters, Dr. Jessica Mahone, Gainesville, Fla., and Jennifer Shell, Memphis, Tenn.; a brother, Larry Bickley, Montgomery, Ala.; several nieces and nephews; two aunts, Wanda Crabtree, Church Hill, Tenn., and Glenda Wright, Oak Ridge, Tenn.; and one uncle, Don Mahone, Richlands, Va.
A service to celebrate the life of Lara Mahone will be conducted at 10:15 a.m. Friday, September 26, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Dean Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Tom Pleasant, Justin Bowers, Lynn Treadway and the deacons of Siam Baptist Church.
