Hazel Lucille Johnson McKinney, 76, of Roan Mountain, went to be with The Lord on Wednesday, September 24, 2014, following a long battle with Parkinson’s.
Mrs. McKinney was born May 10, 1938. She was the daughter of the late Steve and Mable Palmer Johnson. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Ralph, Jack and Wendell Johnson.
She was the loving mother of Pam McKinney, Cynthia and husband Ethan Boles, Greg and wife Lisa McKinney and Todd and wife Amy McKinney. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Zach and Madison Boles, Brandon and wife Amanda, Jared, Courtnie, Ryan and Lucas McKinney; great-grandchildren, Maddux and Ali-Jo McKinney; sisters, Christine Fields and Willa Jean Davis; and brothers, Wayne, Glen, Leonard and Stevie Johnson.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of her friends for their prayers during her time of illness.
Mrs. McKinney’s body has been donated to Quillen Medical College for research on Parkinson’s Disease.
