Phillip Ellison, 92, of Johnson City, passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2014, at Life Care Center of Elizabethton.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Alfred and Julie Miller Ellison.
Mr. Ellison was retired from the Pepsi Cola Company, Johnson City. He was a member of Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jessie Grindstaff Ellison; three sisters, Bessie McCracken, Vergie Ellison and Grace Willis; and a brother, Earnest Ellison.
Survivors include his nieces, Faye Jenkins and husband Harold, Johnson City, Betty Feimster and husband Stanley, Morganton, N.C., June McCracken, Gray, and Goldie Hicks and husband Earnest, Elizabethton; and a nephew, Bobby Ellison and wife Susan, Hampton.
Funeral services for Mr. Ellison will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, October 10, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Paul Crowe officiating. Interment will follow in the Captain Nelson Cemetery (Ripshin Mountain). Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, prior to the service. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the staff of Life Care Center of Elizabethton.
