Mr. Eddie Roy Rogers, 68, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, October 5, 2014.
Eddie was born and raised in Elizabethton, Tenn., before leaving to join the Marine Corps at the age of 18. He went on to become an engineer at Norfolk Southern, before retiring in 1999, and was a man of Christian faith.
He is survived by daughter, Jill Rogers-Tayse, and son, Jeremy Rogers, both of Louisville, Ky.; sister, Freida Massengill, and nephew, Mike Massengill, of Elizabethton, Tenn.; three grandsons, Harrison Tayse, Carter Tayse and Parker Rogers, all from Louisville, Ky.; and several grand and great grand nieces and nephews.
In his strong desire to help others, Eddie donated his body to science. Donations can be made in lieu of flowers at the www.woundedwarriorproject.org on his behalf.
