Jesse E. Frye

Jesse Edward Frye, 88, of Hampton, Tenn., passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2014, at his residence.
A native of North Carolina, he was the son of the late Albert and Adell Buchanan Frye.
Mr. Frye retired from Eastern Stainless Steel Company as a crane operator. He was a member of Simerly Creek Believers Fellowship Church.
Mr. Frye was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Jesse; a brother, Raymond Frye; and two sisters, Marie Street and Mildred Ledford.
Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Tippette of Kentucky; a son, Kenneth Frye and wife Hilda of Germany; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, James Frye, Elizabethton; three sisters, Vista Reagan, Ida Crooks and Aileen Stamey; his caregiver, Betty Taylor, Elizabethton; and special friend, Rev. Bryan Smith, Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Frye will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, November 9, at the Simerly Creek Believers Fellowship Church with Rev. Jim Holtsclaw and Rev. Bryan Smith officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 2 until 3 p.m. Sunday, prior to the funeral service. The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 10:45 a.m. Monday, November 10, at Mountain Home National Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from church family and friends. Military Honors will be accorded by the Carter County Honor Guard. Everyone will meet at Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services at 9:45 a.m. Monday to go in procession to the cemetery. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to Simerly Creek Believers Fellowship Church, Building Fund, 806 Simerly Creek Road, Hampton, TN 37658.
