Reva Dugger Murphy

Reva Dugger Murphy, 89, of Elizabethton, passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2014, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital.
A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Charlie and Connie Campbell Dugger.
Mrs. Murphy was a graduate of Elizabethton High School and a retired employee of Levi-Strauss. She was a life member of Southside Christian Church.
Mrs. Murphy loved to cook and work in her garden.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Murphy; two sisters, Irene Carden and Georgia Smith; and a son-in-law, Danny Cornett.
Survivors include two daughters, Debbie Cornett, of the home, and Shelia Hyder and husband Keith, Gray; a son and daughter-in-law, Alan Murphy and wife Angela, Charlotte, N.C.; three grandchildren, Greg, Daniel and April; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ann Roberts and husband Donald, Baltimore, Md.
Funeral services for Mrs. Murphy will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Friday, November 7, at Memorial Funeral Chapel. Graveside services and interment will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 8, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Music will be provided by David and Evelyn Dugger. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be her church family. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the staff of Hermitage Health Center, the staff of ICU and Surgery of Sycamore Shoals Hospital, Dr. Elizabeth DeFluiter, Dr. Justin Digby, Dr. Robert Walter and the Anesthesia Department. To those who prefer, memorials may be made in memory of Mrs. Murphy to Southside Christian Church, 1605 Southside Road, Elizabethton, TN 37643. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Friends may also visit with the family at her residence.
