James W. “Jim” Edwards

James W. “Jim” Edwards, 76, Johnson City, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 25, 2014, at Johnson City Medical Center, Johnson City.
Born in Banner Elk, N.C., he was the son of the late Clifton H. and Laura Julian Edwards.
Jim proudly served his country in the U.S. Naval Reserves. He was a member of Boones Creek Christian Church, Johnson City. Jim loved sports, coaching and golf, but most of all he loved the Lord and his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Gordon Edwards.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Linda D. Edwards of Johnson City; two daughters, Debbie Connor of Fort Worth, Texas, and Laura Holtsclaw (husband, Jim) of Hampton, Tenn.; grandchildren, Jonathan Connor (wife, Loryn) of Fort Worth, Texas, and Emily Holtsclaw of Hampton, Tenn.; a brother, Robert Edwards of Kingsport; a nephew, Robert Edwards Jr. of Kingsport; a niece, Britta Milhorn of Kingsport; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
For those who prefer, in lieu of flowers, memorials contributions may be given to Gideons International, 4511 Timberlake Lane, Kingsport, TN 37664.
The family will greet guests to share memories on Friday, November 28, from 5 until 7 p.m. at Tetrick Funeral & Cremation Services, Johnson City. A Celebration of Life Service will be held for Jim at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 29, at Tetrick Funeral & Cremation Services with Pastor Jeff Oakes and Pastor Jim Holtsclaw officiating. The graveside service will immediately follow at Washington County Memory Gardens, Johnson City. Pallbearers will be Morgan Edwards, Jarrod Edwards, Jim Milhorn, Jared Sigler, Brock Sigler and Chris Sigler.
