Cordie “Pat” Bowers Cole, 86, of Elizabethton, passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2014, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital.
Mrs. Cole was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the late Daniel and Nellie Rutherford Bowers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Vera Hardin, and one great-granddaughter, Gracie Franklin.
Mrs. Cole was retired from Harold McCormick Elementary School and was a member of Blue Springs Christian Church.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Fred Cole, of the home; two children, Marie Franklin and husband Steve, Elizabethton, and Roger Cole and wife Alicia, Lawrenceville, Ga.; two grandchildren, Adam Franklin and wife Kendra, Elizabethton, and Becky Witts and husband Jason, of New Hampshire; one great-grandchild, Colbey Franklin, Elizabethton; one sister, Viola Gross, Hickory, N.C.; and two nephews, Grant Hardin, Hampton, and Earl Campbell of North Carolina.
A service to honor the life of Mrs. Cordie “Pat” Bowers Cole will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 30, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Mr. Richard Thomason, minister, officiating. Music will be under the direction of Kathy Thomason, Donna Ellis and Mark Church. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 12:30 until 2 p.m. Sunday, prior to the service, or at the residence at anytime. The graveside service will follow at Caldwell Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Blue Springs Christian Church. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Conchitina M. Crisostomo and the staff of East Tennessee Medical Association, Dr. Vivian Clark and staff, and the staff of Life Care Center of Elizabethton.
