Paul Lewis Miller

Paul Lewis Miller, 73, of Butler, Tenn., passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2014, at his residence. He was born in Beech Mountain, Avery County, N.C., on November 26, 1941 to the late William McKinley Miller and Nina Cook Miller.
Paul was a United States Army Veteran. He drove for Greyhound Bus lines for several years and was a truck driver for many years. Paul, in years past, was known to be a fisherman. He was also known for watching westerns.
Paul enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his good friends at the Moose Lodge in Elizabethton, Tenn.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Gail Miller of Butler, Tenn.; sisters, Mary Gray and Maude Mitchell; brother, Mack Miller and wife Shirley; grandchildren, Nichole Miller and special granddaughter, Abby Miller; special nephew, William Gray, and several other nieces and nephews; and Paul’s special friends, Billy and Lorie Lambert.
The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. Sunday, November 30, at Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel with the funeral service to follow at 2 p.m. with Mike Bowers officiating. The graveside service and interment with Military Honors accorded by Johnson County Honor Guard will follow in the Cook Cemetery, Beech Mountain, N.C. Active pallbearers will be Brad Sutherland, Shane Woodard, Gary Woodard, Jeff Carden, Patrick Sutherland, Billy Lambert, Timmy Lambert and Lance Dugger. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Patrick McMillan, Greg Hurley, Marshall Estep, William Gray, Mark Gray and Ronnie Woodard. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation to Dr. McMillan and staff of Amedisys Hospice for all their kindness and loving care given to Paul.
