Anita Moore Foster

ROGERSVILLE — Anita Moore Foster, 61, of Rogersville, passed away Sunday, November 30, 2014, at Wellmont Holston Valley Hospital.
Anita had worked as an LPN in Mississippi, RN in Elizabethton, Mountain City and Johnson City, graduated from ETSU Medical School, residence for her MD at Holston Valley, practiced in Rural Health and Wellmont and taught nursing in Elizabethton.
Her kindness towards all, her courage and strength were manifested in causing all to love, appreciate and want to be with her. Her smile expressed inner peace and confidence and met each stranger, friend and family. Her friends can never remember one time where she said an unkind word about others.
Anita had started to write a book titled “This Too Shall Pass.” The book was about “loving, sharing and finding hope when you feel like you can’t hang on.” Anita had written that her goals in life were: be a faithful Christian, lead others to God, write an inspirational book, be a good wife, daughter, mother, good friend and a motivational speaker.
She was preceded in death by her father, Walden Vernon Moore Jr., and brother, Hal Moore.
She is survived by her husband, Walter William Foster; mother, Frances Evelyn Hales; children, Jeanette Foster Scalf, Shelly Foster Chenier, Holly Foster Dunlop and Cassie Moore; grandchildren, Meagan Scalf, Avery Ray Scalf, Ella Scalf, Gabrielle Chenier, Olivia Chenier, Olivia Carty, Noah Phillips and Gracie Phillips; adopted family, Joe and Christi Phillips and Chris Funk; special friends, Mary Erwin, RN, Zuma Anderson, RN, Judy Charleston, RN, Tommy Pressley, RN, Dr. Amy Hanes, Ken Byrd, PA.; Bible study group, Mary Erwin, Denise Reed, Millie Hughes, Gale Brittain, Zuma Anderson, Mercedes Wittig and Jaime Hause; and a host of friends and co-workers.
The family received friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, December 1, at Christian-Sells Funeral Home. Funeral services followed at 7:30 p.m. with Randy Wittig and Greg Grant officiating. Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 2, at Butler Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.christiansells.com.
