SMSGT Clyde A. Fuller

SMSGT Clyde A. Fuller, United States Air Force, (Ret), 78, of Hampton, where he made his home for the last 33 years, passed away on Saturday, November 29, 2014, at his home following a brief illness.
He was born in Honaker, Va., and was a son of the late Marion and Dora Brown Fuller. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Hazel T. Fuller, on September 28, 2011; a son, Gary Paul Fuller; a brother, Elmer Fuller; a sister, Virginia Perkins; and two special nephews, Larry Fuller and Alan Fuller.
Mr. Fuller was a veteran of the United States Air Force from which he retired with 27 years of service and where he served his country in the Vietnam War. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and could fix anything electrical. He loved to play Bluegrass music and made his own instruments.
SMSGT Fuller was of the Christian faith and a former employee of Nuclear Fuels.
He is survived by four daughters, Stephanie Rowe and her husband, Chris, Piney Flats, Carolyn Fuller, of the home, Kathy Oliver and her husband, Jerry, Hampton, and Jennifer Treadway and her husband, Wes, Johnson City; a son, Jeffrey Fuller and his wife, Rosie, Elizabethton; 11 grandchildren, Trevor Rowe, Nicholas Rowe, David Oliver, Aimee Fuller, April Smith, Stacy Lower, Jason Fuller, Roger Killen, Taylor Treadway, Kayla Fuller and Tanner Treadway; six great-grandchildren, Olivia Nobles, Stephen Nobles, Emery Smith, Luxa Lower, Branston Smith and Julian Killen; and a very special niece, Connie Middleton. Several other nieces and nephews also survive as well as a brother-in-law, John Featherstone and his wife, Julie.
The service to honor the life of SMSGT Fuller will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, December 2, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Mr. Dwayne Calhoun, minister, officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the service, or at the home at other times. The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 3, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Trevor Rowe, Nicholas Rowe, Tanner Treadway, Andy Lower, Wes Treadway and Chris Rowe. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Oliver, Jeff Fuller and Dewey Cornett. Military Honors will be accorded by the Carter County Honor Guard. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family would like to express a deeply felt thank you to his special friends, Ted and Faye Fender and Wayne and Linda Reese, for all the love and support shown to SMSGT Fuller and the family. The family also appreciates Dwayne Calhoun and Wayne McClain for the visits and the time spent sharing the word of God during his time of illness. Appreciation also is sent to the Staff of Sycamore Shoals Hospital ICU for the care given to SMSGT Fuller during his time there.
