John L. Dugger

John L. Dugger, 73, of Bluff City, passed away Tuesday, December 2, 2014, at his residence following an extended illness.
A native of Johnson County, he was a son of the late Fred and Hazel Cowan Dugger. He had lived in Bluff City for the past 10 years.
John L. was a 1959 graduate of Johnson County High School where he was a great basketball player. He was an avid fisherman and loved being with his daughters and grandchildren. He enjoyed his many dogs over the years, especially “Twinkle.”
John L. was a member of Sugar Grove Baptist Church, Butler.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jim Dugger.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Doris Stout Dugger; his daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Gary Rader, Bluff City, and Kim and Mike Blevins, Piney Flats; a grandson, Devon Steedley; a granddaughter, Beth Blevins and fiancé Chris Koubele; a sister, Azalene Carter of Texas; nieces, Anna Mary Church of North Carolina and Pam Bowman of Texas; a nephew, Layne Dugger of Florida; and his sisters-in-law, Pat Stout, Mountain City, and Evelyn Dugger, Kingsport.
Memorial services for Mr. Dugger will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday, December 5, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Ray Greene officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday, prior to the memorial service. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to Wellmont Hospice for their care and to Miguel Canchola, who has been a blessing to our family; he has been like a son, and also to Mary and Jessica Wilson.
