The Elizabethton Housing and Development Agency invited other community agencies to enjoy a special Christmas lunch during the annual EHDA Open House.
EHDA Director Kelly Geagley said the agency invites other government officials, nonprofit agencies and other organizations that the EHDA has done business with to have a soup-and-sandwich lunch at the EHDA.
EHDA employees made all the food at the open house, which included several soups, chili, sandwiches and dessert. The office closed for a couple of hours to allow for the open house festivities.
“The employees provide everything as a way to say thank you for the support for the past year,” Geagley said. “No taxpayer dollars were used to do this.”
The open house has been held every year since 1995. Visitors started to arrive at the open house early in the afternoon and a steady crowd was present through the event.
Geagley said around 200 people attend the open house each year.
“There is always a good crowd here,” he said. “People always seem to enjoy the open house.”
The next EHDA Christmas event will be the Children’s Christmas Party on Dec. 22 from 2-4:30 p.m.
