Avery C. Sutton, 86, of Elizabethton, passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2014, at Life Care Center of Elizabethton.
Mr. Sutton was born in Williston, Fla., to the late Cornelius and Bertie Craig Sutton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Lucille Kennard and Gladys Sutton.
Mr. Sutton had retired as a heavy equipment operator and was of the Baptist faith. He was a United States Navy veteran, having served in both World War II and the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include his daughter, Peggy Boatright; his son, Doug Sutton; and his niece, Cleyone Fowler, Newberry, Fla.
A graveside service to honor the life of Avery C. Sutton will be conducted at 10:45 a.m. Friday, December 12, in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, at 9:45 a.m. Friday to go in procession.
