Terry Wayne Malone

Terry Wayne Malone, 62, of Elizabethton, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 9, 2014, at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center.
Terry was a native of Carter County. He attended Elizabethton High School and received a degree in Drafting from Herman Robinson Vocational School. Prior to his illness, he was employed as a Structural Engineer at Tennessee Eastman Company. He was of the Christian Faith.
Terry loved playing the guitar and the outdoors, where he loved fishing and hunting.
He was preceded in death by his father, Paul J. Malone, September 11, 1982.
Survivors include his mother, Lona Carden Malone; his brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Jan Malone, Elizabethton; his longtime companion, Dena Wilson; his special friends, Harold and Bonnie Stout; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services for Mr. Malone were conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday, December 11, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. John H. Smith, minister, officiating. Music was provided by John and Mary Smith. Graveside services and interment will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday, December 12, in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:45 a.m. Friday, will be Mike Malone, Harold Hicks, Albert “Pete” Taylor, Chris Blevins, John Davis, Barney McKinney, Bruce Perry and Corey Whitehead. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to Chaplain Jill and the staff of James H. Quillen VA Medical Center and the members of East Side Christian Church. The family received friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Friends may also visit with the family at his mother’s residence. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:45 a.m. Friday to go to the cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the American Legion.
