Dennis Martin Lester, 57, of Roan Mountain, passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2014.
Mr. Lester was born in Banner Elk, N.C., a son of Esther Booksha Lester of Roan Mountain, and the late Clayton Edward Lester. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Lester and Danny Lester, and an infant brother, David Lester.
Mr. Lester was employed as a security officer at Roan Mountain State Park. He enjoyed working at the park and being around people.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include a son, David Cole Lester, Parrish, Fla.; a daughter, Karrie Mae Parsley and husband Brian, Palmetto, Fla.; two grandchildren, Bradley Ford Parsons and Emily Ann Parsley, both of Palmetto, Fla.; one sister, Alice Faye Lester Wynn, Roan Mountain; two nieces, Margaret Lester Smith, of Texas, and Tammi Grill, Roan Mountain; and two nephews, Johnathan Wynn, Roan Mountain, and Clay Lester of Pennsylvania. Several great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.
Private services for Dennis Martin Lester will be held at a later date. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to Roan Highlands Nursing Center, 146 Buck Creek Road, Roan Mountain, TN 37687.
