Powell Colbaugh

Powell Colbaugh, 65, of Elizabethton, passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2014, at John M. Reed Nursing Home, Limestone, following an extended illness.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Arthur and Nannie Pearl Forbes Colbaugh.
Powell was a retired employee of Mapes Piano String Company.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Peters and infant Louella Colbaugh.
Survivors include a son, Michael Colbaugh, Elizabethton; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Carolyn Colbaugh, Jessie and Brenda Colbaugh, Ray and Loretta Colbaugh and Lester and Doris Colbaugh, all of Elizabethton; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Linda Simerly and Ruby “Peanut” and Eugene “Frosty” Bowers Jr., all of Elizabethton; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services for Powell Colbaugh will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, December 19, in the Blevins Cemetery with the Rev. Nicholas Colbaugh and the Rev. Ray Colbaugh officiating. Interment will follow the service. Active pallbearers will be nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Blevins Cemetery Fund, c/o Sofia Wilson, 237 Peters Hollow Road, Elizabethton, TN 37643. Friends may gather at the cemetery at 1:50 p.m. Friday.
