Kathy Hoss Sams, 62, of Kingsport, left the sorrows of the earth and was welcomed by the joy of the Lord on Thursday, December 18, 2014. She was the daughter of Carmaleta Breeden Hoss and the late Carl Hoss.
Kathy loved to garden and canning and was a huge Elvis and Ben Portsmouth fan. She was a member of Christ Fellowship Church.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, B.C. Hoss.
She is survived by her mother; daughter, Rachel Ellis and husband Lance of Johnson City; two grandsons, Andrew and Jacob; sister, Brenda Porter; special friend, Patsy Blackwell; and her work family from Tele-Optics.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at Happy Valley Memorial Park in Elizabethton. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Christ Fellowship Church with Pastor Tony Bleckley officiating.
