Patricia “Patty” S. Hunt, 55, of Elizabethton, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 28, 2014, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital.
Patty was born in Pikeville, Ky., a daughter of the late Clarence “Bud” and Viola Buttery Scalf. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Christine Fortner; a nephew, Jacob Wayne Campbell; a brother-in-law, Michael Campbell; and a brother, James Keith Scalf.
Patty was a graduate of Elizabethton Christian Academy and Steed College. She worked as the Director of Medical Records at Life Care Center of Elizabethton. She was a member of Unaka Baptist Church and sang in the choir. She also worked with VBS and taught the Wednesday night Children’s Class and enjoyed helping people.
Survivors include her husband, Troy “Pete” L. Hunt, of the home; a son, Troy W. Hunt, Elizabethton; three sisters, Wanda Daniels and husband David of West Virginia, Debbie Chrzan and husband Walt of North Carolina, and Betty “Lou” Campbell, Elizabethton; a special niece, Amy Trish Campbell, Elizabethton; her nieces, Diane, Precious, Patience, Lisa and Angie; her nephews, Steve, Timmy, Robbie, Mikie, Colt, Tony, Dougie and Billy; and one sister-in-law, Pat Markland, Elizabethton. Several great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and Izzy also survive.
A memorial service to honor the life of Patricia “Patty” S. Hunt will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday, December 31, in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Rev. Walker Roberson and Rev. Terry Richardson officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, prior to the service. Honorary pallbearers will be B.J. Fenner and Heath Sherer. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to Unaka Baptist Church-Youth Fund, 1598 Highway 91, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
