Theresa Harvey Luchini Whiddon

Theresa Harvey Luchini Whiddon, of Johnson City, died Tuesday, January 6, 2015, at Christian Care Center.
Mrs. Whiddon was a Carter County native. She was a daughter of the late John and Irene Lacy Harvey.
Mrs. Whiddon was a member of Central Church of Christ. She was an avid Bible reader and taught children’s Bible school for many years.
She was a member of the Harvey Family Singers for about 70 years. The Singers were presented with the Governor’s Award from the State of Tennessee to recognize their many years of Southern gospel music.
Mrs. Whiddon was a graduate of Steed Business College. She worked as a real estate agent and was a retired court recorder for the juvenile court in Johnson City.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Jimmie Luchini; second husband, C.G. “Buddy” Whiddon; brother, Dexter Harvey; and infant sister, Velva Gay Harvey.
Survivors include two sons, Mark Luchini, and his wife Melissa, and Aaron Luchini, and his wife Cheryle; two grandchildren, Katie Bowers, and her husband Nathan, and Jonathan Luchini; one great-granddaughter, Annie Bowers; one sister, Peggy Harvey Street; one brother, Kenneth Harvey, and his wife Betty; special first cousin, Tommy Joe Andrews, and his wife Jewel; and several nieces and nephews.
The family of Theresa Whiddon will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, January 8, in the Morris-Baker Dogwood Chapel. The funeral service will follow in the chapel at 7 p.m. Thursday with Minister Tim Hall officiating. The committal service is private. Interment will be at Monte Vista Memorial Park.
