WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. — Mary Belle Hooker, 87, passed away Thursday, January 8, 2015.
Born in Roan Mountain, Tenn., on June 27, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Marion and Bertha Mae Gray.
During her 45 years of teaching K-4 and 5, she touched thousands of lives, before retiring in 2011.
Surviving are her children, James O. (Elaine) Hooker Jr., John E. (Alice) Hooker, Thomas J. “TJ” (Janice) Hooker, Daniel J. (Joanna) Hooker, and daughter, Valerie Susan (Gary) Harris; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and brothers, Jim and Burl Gray.
She was predeceased by her spouse and forever love, James Odell Hooker Sr., and siblings, Tom, Carroll, Paul, Dana and Evelyn Gray.
