Nina Margaret Bevins Edens

Nina Margaret Bevins Edens, 92, of Johnson City, died Monday, January 12, 2015, at her residence, following a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Edens was a Johnson City native and a daughter of the late John Wesley and Dora Gentry Bevins.
Mrs. Edens was a homemaker and a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. She loved bowling and crocheting.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred R. Edens, M.D., in 2000; two brothers, Hugh Bevins and Kyle Bevins; and four sisters, Gertrude Hamilton, Lake Bennett, Olive Cross and Goldie Coffey.
She is survived by her children, Fred Ray Edens Jr. and wife Dorcas, Elizabethton, J. Wesley Edens and wife Gina, Johnson City, Theresa Ann Edens Jelle’y and husband Ron, Johnson City, John E. Edens and wife Patricia, Gray, Christopher A. Edens and wife Amy, Telford, and Timothy S. Edens and wife Annette, Clarksille; and her grandchildren, Amanda Stillings and husband Jay, Jason R. Edens, Amy S. Jelle’y, Bryan S. Edens, Joshua R. Edens, J. Wesley Edens Jr., Kenneth Bradley Edens, Brandon J. Jelle’y, William Christopher Edens and Caleb Daniel Edens.
The funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 17, from the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Fitzsimmons officiating. Interment will follow at Washington County Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Jason R. Edens, Bryan S. Edens, Joshua R. Edens, J. Wesley Edens Jr., Brandon J. Jelle’y, Brad Edens, Will Edens and Caleb Edens. The family will receive friends Saturday, prior to the service, from 12 to 1 p.m. in the East Parlor of the funeral home.
