Alice Sharp

Alice Sharp, 89, of Broadmore Senior Living of Johnson City, formerly of Elizabethton, passed away on Friday, January 16, 2015, at Johnson City Medical Center following a brief illness.
Ms. Sharp was a native of Sullivan County, but had lived most of her life in Carter County. She was a daughter of the late James Kelley and Kate Fleming Sharp. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Corinne Sharp and Fanny Belle Sharp Suggs.
Ms. Sharp was a former employee of Paty Lumber Company and retired from Calloway Construction, where she worked in the business office. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Elizabethton and was active in the United Methodist Women.
Survivors include a sister, Mary E. Sharp, Johnson City, Tenn.; a niece, Amanda Libbey and husband Chris, Alpharetta, Ga.; a great-nephew, Bennett Williams, Columbus, S.C.; a great-niece, Greer Libby Watson, Arlington, Va.; and a cousin, Ann Utt and husband Larry, Blountville, Tenn.
A celebration of life service for Alice Sharp will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, January 19, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Rev. Ray Amos officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from noon to 1 p.m. Monday, prior to the service. The graveside service will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Andrew Bentley, Stan Bentley, Gayle Hood, David Wortman, Larry Utt and Larry Bandarra. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of First United Methodist Church. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to First United Methodist Church, 325 East E. Street, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
