Lady Cyclones remain atop their poll, region rival makes debut

Elizabethton remained atop their throne as the number one team in Tennessee Class AA girls basketball as the polls were released on Monday afternoon. They received all 16 first place votes  after their impressive week, which included a victory over crosstown rival Happy Valley 68-38. They topped off the week with victories at Sullivan North 96-26 on Friday and a defeat of conference foe Unicoi County 73-36 on Saturday.

New to the poll this week is Lady Cyclone region rival Grainger. The Lady Grizzlies enter the poll in the tenth spot with a record of 16-3.

One other area team that is ranked is North Greene in Class A at 10th. They compete in the Watauga Valley Conference with Hampton, Unaka and Cloudland. The Lady Huskies remained in the spot despite a loss to Chuckey-Doak 64-55. They had beaten Unaka earlier in the week 40-34.
