Ruby Ellen Gregg, 68, 302 N. Lynn Avenue, Elizabethton, passed away Friday, January 16, 2015, at her residence.
A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late John Timbs and Jettie Potter.
Ruby was retired from the Housekeeping Department of Sycamore Shoals Hospital. She was non-denominational.
Survivors include her fiancé, Larry Dean Willis; two daughters, Tammy Ollis and husband Paul, Elizabethton, and Rachel Fisher and husband Wayne, Johnson City; two grandchildren, Brittney Scott and husband Ben and Justin Fisher; two great-grandchildren, Maggie Scott and Isaac Scott and one on the way; and two brothers, Bobby Ray Potter and wife Sherry, Elizabethton, and Vaughn Potter and wife Kathy, Butler.
Funeral services for Ruby Ellen Gregg will be conducted at 7 p.m. Saturday, January 17, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Robert Fultz officiating. Graveside services and interment will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 18, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 1:20 p.m. Sunday, will be Wayne Fisher, Vaughn Potter, Brandon Potter, Ben Scott, Billy Harding, Paul Ollis, R.L. Potter and Bobby Potter. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the 3rd floor staff of Holston Valley Hospital, the staff of Amedisys Hospice and Dr. Paul Kramer and staff. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Friends may also visit with the family at her residence.
