Jack E. Williams

Jack E. Williams, age 90, of Elizabethton, TN passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2015 in the Hillview Health Center. Mr. Williams was a native of Johnson City and had lived in Elizabethton for more than forty years. He was a son of the late Ernest S. and Olivia Lacey Williams. Mr. Williams served his country in the U.S. Air Force during World War II serving as an aircraft mechanic.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Florence Shepherd Williams in 1965; one sister and one brother. Survivors include his wife, Edna Williams, of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Lou and Charlie Buckner, Elizabethton; two grandsons and their wives, Jeff and Susie Breeden and Chris and Julie Breeden, all of Johnson City; one step-daughter and her husband, Jeanette and Thomas Tyree, Elizabethton and one step-grandson and his wife, James and Christy Tyree, Elizabethton. Several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
A graveside service to honor the life of Jack E. Williams will be conducted at 1:45 P.M. Monday, January 26, 2015 in the Mountain Home National Cemetery with the Rev. Tim Tapp officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the Carter County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 P.M. on Monday prior to the procession to the cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Ralph and Macel Gardner, Jerry and Sharon Barnett, Wynona Holland, Wanda and Eddie Burrow, Charlie Biggs, Jerry and Susan Mock, Pauline White and Christine Eller.
