Jimmy Henson, 55, of Butler, Tenn., passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2015, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital, following an extended illness.
Jimmy was born in Lenoir, N.C., a son of James Clay Henson Sr. and the late Jean Ellen Briggs Henson. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother, Darrell Lee Henson; a sister, Linda Jean Trivette; and a nephew, Christopher Guinn.
Jimmy was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include his father and step-mother, James Clay Henson Sr. and Goldie Henson, Granite Falls, N.C.; a son, Jimmy Clay Henson of New York; a brother, David Lynn Henson, Lenoir, N.C.; a sister, Cathy Sue Guinn, Butler, Tenn.; a niece, Emily Guinn, Butler; and two nephews, Shane Guinn and David Lynn Henson Jr., both of Butler.
A graveside service to honor the life of Jimmy Henson will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 1, in the Flat Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor A.J. Potter officiating. The family will receive friends at the residence of his sister, Cathy Guinn, 172 Poga Road, Butler, Tenn., at anytime. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 1:50 p.m. Sunday. The family would like to extend a special thank you to his cousins, Patsy Potter and Tommy Cable, for their love, kindness and friendship through the years.
