Mrs. Bonnie Hughes Williams, 94, of Kingsport, passed away on Monday, February 2, 2015, at Asbury Place of Kingsport. She was the daughter of the late Patrick and Claudia Julian Hughes and was born in Carter County. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Thomas Williams Sr.; a son, John Thomas Williams Jr.; and by several brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Williams was a retired school nurse with the Carter County School System. She was a member of Higher Ground Baptist Church in Kingsport.
She is survived by a daughter, Rosemary McKinney and her husband, Sanford McKinney Jr., Kingsport, and three grandchildren, John T. Williams III, Kingsport, Joseph Williams, Cohutta, Ga., and Melanie Jaye McKinney, Kingsport. Several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren also survive.
A graveside service for Mrs. Williams will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 4, at Happy Valley Memorial Park.
