Curtis Ray Campbell, 83, of Elizabethton, passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2015, at Lakebridge Health Care Center. He was the son of the late Laura Ella Miracle Campbell and Aubrey Foster Campbell and was born in Pineville, Ky. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sadie Perkins.
Mr. Campbell was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served during the Korean Conflict. He was the co-founder of Tri-City Plating and attended First Christian Church in Elizabethton.
He is survived by two daughters, Brenda Retherford and her husband, Dan, Bluff City, and Paula Rice, Blountville; a sister, Charlene Asbury, Knoxville; and a brother, James Ned Campbell, Bluff City.
A service to honor the life of Curtis Ray Campbell will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 4, in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Mr. Bob Robinson and Mr. John H. Smith, ministers, officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from noon until 1 p.m. Wednesday, prior to the service. The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Mountain Home National Cemetery, Mountain Home, Tenn. Active pallbearers will be Junior Stanley, Chuck Carrier, Chip Carrier, Ken Mann, Carl Burrough and John Britt. Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Milhorn, Wayne Peeks, Ernest “Porter” Clawson and Deacon Bowers. Military Honors will be accorded by the Carter County Honor Guard.
